princesscutie - If you want to see your science overall grade, you can ask and when I have a free moment I can show you on my computer at school. :)
Happijtopher - Is your question, what did we have to do in science...because you had to do a bar graph of the diameters of the planets. On the back of the bar graph, you had to put what the diameters were of each planet and rank them from smallest to largest.

Sorry Mrs.Kady but I have 1 more question. It is not really what we have been learning abot but are we going to study human anatomy in Science class? Because my mom is a nurse assistant and she could help me with homework...:) That's all i am going to say.:)

Karmel1999- On Friday, we worked on the page for Mercury in our planet flip book. We took notes from our textbook and a big book I have about the planets, then we wrote a paragraph (5-7 sentences) about Mercury in our flip book. We will be learning about human body systems this year. That is great your mom can help you with homework, maybe she would also like to come in and help in class with something! :)

lulu&ee:] - You can turn in the extra credit for spelling tomorrow, and it will boost your spelling grade. You can do unit 15, which was last week. Hope that helps you out.

lollypop123 - We are working on Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto next week. It is up to you if you would like to work ahead, but you are not required to. Remember you will be provided with some class time to work each day on those planets. But, I would suggest that you work on the solar system page, because I will not be giving you one day to work on that page specifically.

Every website I'm going to shows the opposite lunar phases (the dark side and the light side being opposite from the ones we learned in class). So can you explain this to me in class! Thank you!

hppj#if - Well, keep in mind the position of the sun, earth and moon in the models provided on the Internet. Also, it is important to make sure the website you are using is reputable, meaning it is from a good source.

I am having a great summer, I hope you are, too. I have been finishing up my Master's class this summer (so that is exciting) and planning for my classroom for next year. See you at Schuchard! I am excited to be at a new school but glad that I'll have familiar faces there walking through the hallways!

I miss you, too!!! I'm so glad you are enjoying Oakbrook, it is a great school. Every time I am Up North I hope I run into you and your sister. I'm sure we will one time, hopefully next summer. I miss seeing your smiling face each day as well! Your new teacher sure is lucky to have you as a student. :)

nas345 - I have never been to the Holly Berry festival. What kinds of things can you do there? If it is in Caseville, I'm sure it's fun! I actually have a new position this year, I am the school's literacy consultant. So, remember Mrs. Stowe at Walsh? I have a job like her's at Schuchard. I hope you are enjoying your new school.
paperairplane101 - How are you?! I'm always excited to hear from my past students. I miss all my fifth graders from Walsh last year. If you are ever around Schuchard you should stop by. Also, keep me posted on the great things you are doing and accomplishing!

Yes it is in Caseville. The Holly Berrry Festival is a christmas theme and you go in and out of little stores in a high school!!

nas345- I was up north for Memorial Day and 4th of July. I had a great time. I hope you are able to get up there this summer with your family. So now you and your sister are officially junior high students?! How exciting. Hope your summer is going great. :)

lollypop123 - My year went really well, I was the school literacy consultant (like Mrs. Stowe was at Walsh) this year and I really enjoyed trying something new. I miss all the kids from Walsh, and am lucky that I got to see some of them, but hope you enjoyed your new school and junior high!

I am confused on how you do that name bulleton board......Do they trace their names on black paper??? then cut it out and glue it on the white colored paper?

Melissa - for the name bulletin board I have the students fold a black piece of construction paper in half (hot dog shape). Have the folded part of the construction paper facing them, this is the line that they will write their name in cursive. They write it in cursive and outline it. Remember you will want some connecting points, so when they cut it out you will not want to cut along the fold, otherwise you will end up with two pieces of paper, rather than one big one with a mirror image. Then, they cut out any little pieces and glue it on the center of the white paper where they colored all the different parts. Does that help?!
